October Favourites

With the fall season beginning I have some new products for you guys, and some older ones that I have recently fallen in love with again. I have decided that I am going to be doing favourites posts every two months, with doing that they will be constant and I will be featuring products which are new to me and hopefully new to you as well.

Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Primer - I got a little sample size of this primer and from the few times I have used it I just love it. It is oil free so it doesn't make my skin more of a oil slick than it already is ( which is always a good thing) it also makes my foundation stay on so when I am wearing the same face for 14 hours I don't have to worry!

Macadamia Ultra Rich Moisture Oil Treatment - I have been using this oil in my extensions because we all know extensions get dry and shitty in no time at all when your heat styling them every day or every second day.. so this has been my go to product for moisturizing them and it works like a charm. The only thing to be careful with is how much of it you use, because if you use even the tiniest bit too much your hair will be greasy and awful until you wash it again.

Vaseline Spray and Go Lotion - I keep hearing amazing things about this sprayable lotion and I am not the one to want to, or who remembers to take the time to moisturize my body, so I decided to try this product and I must say it is a life savour. I got this in the coco butter scent and I am in love.. It takes me a minute or two to moisturize my whole body after I shower and who doesn't want that, any of my lovelies who are lazy like me need this product in their life.

Too Faced Hangover Rx Primer - This primer is very quickly becoming one of my holy grail products. After nights where I go out or work at the bar I need this in the morning... Seriously this primer is like the gatorade of makeup. It helps to make it look like you are not running on 3 hours of sleep or less even if you are and who doesn't love that. Any night owl like me needs this in their life, especially if you work a night or a day job.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner Trooper - I finally strayed from my Physicians Formula Eye Booster Pen and decided to try out the Kat Van D Tattoo Liner and I am in love. I get such precise lines with this product and it does not come off until I wash my face. This is for sure a new holy grail product for me.

Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick Lolita - I am very unaware of why it took me so long to jump on the Lolita trend and I have no idea why ( probably because its so hard to come by) but I am in love with this liquid lipstick and rarely reach for any other colour right now. I am going to be very sad when this same size runs out if I cannot find another one in store by that point.

Let me know what products you guys have been loving this past month,

Until next time, stay beautiful

Lets Talk About Dry Shampoo and Dry Conditioner

After almost two months of vacations and life happening I am back with more ideas and blog posts to share with you all.... So today were going to talk about a few products I am very passionate about using and those are dry shampoo and dry conditioner.

Pureology has created a Fresh Approach division of their haircare line, which consists of a dry shampoo and a dry conditioner that I am in love with, even though they do have quite a high price point- but they are totally worth it.

Dry Shampoo
This product is very lightweight which is partially why I like it so much, I have very fine hair and because of that I find a lot of dry shampoos are too heavy, or leave too much residue on my hair (I'm pointing at you Sexy Hair Volumizing Dry Shampoo)
According to Pureology this dry shampoo is-
- Free of sulphates, parabens and mineral oil
- It contains pure minerals like Obsidian and Smithsonite to cleanse and refresh the hair
- Going to improve the longevity of your hair colour with a mixture of antioxidants and minerals that are part of the Pureology AntiFade Complex.
The only thing I do not particularly like about this product is the scent, I find it very overwhelming to the point that I need the fan on in my bathroom when I use this because it is such a potent smell.

Dry Conditioner
Dry conditioner is a product not a lot of lines have brought in yet but it is completely worth it.  I used to find that when I used dry shampoo my ends always felt dry and terrible but with using a dry conditioner my ends feel amazing everyday. This product also does not leave any residue on your hair as long as you brush it through.
According to Pureology this dry conditioner is-
- Free of parabens and mineral oil
-Contains orange oil to condition, nourish and add shine to the hair.
- Contains pure minerals Obsidian and Smithsonite to refresh and cleanse the hair.
- Contains Pureology's AntiFade Complex to extend the life of colour vibrancy by using a mixture of minerals and antioxidants.
The dry conditioner I find has the same scent problem of the dry shampoo with it being very overwhelming, but I continue to use both these products because I like them so much.

Until next time my beauties

July Favourites

I know its been a while since I have made a favourites post, but I am working on getting back into the habit of sitting down and writing these once a month so you guys can know about the products I have been loving this past month! And this is up before the end of the month, so I must be taking this getting back into favourites posting somewhat seriously... But here we go, I don't have a bunch of products but I narrowed it down until the products I loved the most.

Kardashian Beauty Black Seed Dry Oil- We got the Kardashian Beauty haircare line in at work, so I decided I would try out their dry oil as I am a sucker for hair oils. I must say I love this product, it has made my extensions feel fantastic, it is a little to heavy for my natural hair but it makes my extensions look and feel amaze balls, and the smell of this is also to die for. Once I am done my handful of samples, I will be buying this in the regular size.

Maybelline Lash Sensational- I have continually heard youtubers and bloggers rave about this mascara, so naturally I had to run out to Shoppers and purchase it. This mascara is fantastic, and I have been reaching for it everyday! I think this is going to become a holy grail mascara for me, and I have only had it for about two weeks so its gotta be pretty fantastic to make it into my monthly favourites.

Nars All Day Luminous Foundation- This foundation I was very unsure about buying as I stated in my most recent Sephora haul which can be found here . I have been wearing this everyday and I have not stopped loving it. As long as I use a primer and set it with a powder this stays on all day and for me that makes this foundation worth it to me, even with the highend price tag.

Makeup Forever HD Mircofinish Powder - I recently got this from one of my good friends who was cleaning out her makeup/ skincare collection before moving to Australia. I have heard many reviews about this powder and not having to spend the (39$ at Sephora) on it made me even more excited. I have been using this product everyday to set my Nars All Day Luminous Foundation, and it works beautifully. It makes my foundation completely matte, which is something I look for in setting powders and it controls my oil, so I only have to blot my face once or twice a day. I would recommend this to anyone with oily skin.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation- I have had this foundation for probably the last 6 months, and I have always found it quite a hit or miss product, until I started applying it with a brush... I always found this got cakey on my face and didn't cover etc etc, but applying this without a beauty blender and using a brush instead makes all the difference. Now this foundation is one of my favourites, I don't use too much and get a cakey look, I can now apply this evenly to my face and my face looks flawless. As long as I set this with a powder my face doesn't get oily and the foundation actually lasts for 12 hours, so over all now that I have figured out how to use this product it is amazing.

Moroccan Oil Hydrating Conditioner - I have my extensions out now and I decided to go back to my old holy grail Moroccan Oil conditioner, I forgot how much I loved this conditioner. It is light enough that my super fine hair doesn't get weighed down, but it has enough hydration that it makes my hair feel amazing even though it is super damaged. This conditioner is amazing for fine hair to give it hydration without being super heavy, the smell is also amazing and thats why I keep going back to Moroccan Oil products.

Moroccan Oil Light Oil Treatment - Again with my extensions out, I have to revert back to using lighter products, so here we are with my holy grail Moroccan Oil Light Oil Treatment, I use this in wet and dry hair and it gives wonderful hydration and shine to my hair when its wet, and when its dry it helps with shine and static. The scent of this is just as amazing as every other Moroccan Oil product and this haircare line will always be a strong part of my hair care routine.

Carmex - This is my holygrail lip balm and I forgot how much I loved it until I ran out and my Shoppers was also out of stock for two weeks. I am very happy this product comes in 3 different packages, the original tub, and tube and the stick which I just found out about. Now the perfect lip balm comes in different packaging for everyones needs!

I hope you guys enjoyed hearing about the products I have been loving this past month, and I would love to hear what you guys have been loving as well!

July Ipsy Bag

Well its that time of the month that Ipsy bags start arriving. I thought I would do a quick revealing of my July bag for you guys, even though I have not been as into Ipsy as of lately, well just not as excited about it as I used to be, but without further a-due here it is..

Eva-Nyc Freshen Up Dry Shampoo-
I read some reviews about this product and from what I have read it seems like a good dry shampoo. Im excited to try this out because I usually only wash my hair once a week so it takes a good dry shampoo to make my hair look clean around days 4-6, so we shall see if this lives up to my holy grail Redken and Bastille dry shampoos.

Tweezers by Crown Brush
I am forever losing the sets of tweezers I buy so when I saw these in my Ipsy bag I was super excited.. From looking at them they seem like good tweezers but only time will tell if they can pull out my coarse eyebrow hairs.

Aurora Gel Effect Nail Polish 4 Alarm Fire
I have this polish on my nails currently and I am beyond happy with it. The polish drys so fast, and the consistency is perfect; its not to thick or thin, as well as the brush makes it super easy to apply. When I find out where to find Aurora polish I will be buying so much more of it. This is my new favourite polish brand.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics 2in1 Shadow/Liner
From swatching this liner/shadow on my hand it seems like a bronze shade and for a liner you do get a pretty precise line and its also quite easy to blend out to make this product a shadow. I am excited to try this out and see what I can do with it.

Pur-lisse Pur-Bright Ultra Skin Brightening Serum
I have tried other Pur-lisse products that I have received from Ipsy and quite enjoyed them, so I am excited about what this brightening serum will bring to the table. The consistency of it is quite light and smooth so I think it will be a easy product to add into my skincare routine.

Drugstore Makeup & Skincare Haul

So another drugstore haul happened... Again. Im now going on a spending ban, until the end of August, I have so many products I need to use up at this point. So here are my first impressions of these products, Ive been using them for about a week now.

Maybelline Lash Sensational -
I keep hearing about this mascara on youtube, and different blogs; so naturally I had to try it out. This mascara is amazeballs. I usually stick to my Too Faced Better Than Sex, but I am starting to reach for this one more and it has a better price tag so thats a plus as well. I find it doesn't clump and it separates my lashes very well. I would recommend this to anyone.

Carmex -
This is my holy grail lip balm, I cannot go a day without using it and I find nothing else works as well.. Not even blistex. This lip balm just goes above and beyond all my expectations.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Pads -
Since using these face pads (that sounds so weird to say) my face has felt brighter, more refreshed and more moisturized. I have only been using them for a week and I have no complaints. The Nip + Fab skincare line just keeps amazing me time and time again.

Batiste Dry Shampoo -
This is one of my favourite drug store dry shampoos, while the original one is. I tried the XXL Volume one and I did not care for it - I found it made my hair way too gritty and hard to brush through. The original one is by far my favourite out of all of them and it actually works!

Kloraine Oily Hair Dry Shampoo -
I got this in a Ipsy bag a few months back and really liked it, so because it was on sale I thought it would try it again. I am just as impressed with this product as I was the first time I tried it but I'm not sure it goes above the Batiste or Redken dry shampoo on my list of favourites.

Clean and Clear Night Relaxing Cleansing Wipes -
As we all know I have an addiction to makeup wipes, I am always scared I will run out. I have used these before and liked them a lot, they were on sale so I thought I would purchase them again as I just ran out of my OleHenricksen ones.

If you guys have any other products you think I should try please let me know!

Nip + Fab

I was skeptical about the Nip+Fab line because the reviews are overall quite good, but it is quite inexpensive so I wanted to see if a few products did live up to the hype and they have!

Nip+Fab Cellulite Fix
As weird as it sounds at 20 I shouldn't be worried about cellulite... but here we are. Cellulite is that elephant in the room that no one likes to talk about, and yet again here we are. I have been using this for about two weeks and I have noticed a difference in how my legs look. I wouldn't say is 'erases' cellulite but I have noticed my skin looking firmer and that is a step in the right direction. I find that this product doesn't absorb as well as it claims to because it stays quick tacky and sticky on the skin for about 10 minutes after applying it, this is a big thing for me because I like to use it before bed but I almost need to plan when I will apply this because of the absorbing factor, or lack there of. Overall this is a great product for skin firming, it isn't a magic eraser to make your skin look flawless but its a step in the right direction.
You can buy this product here

Nip+Fab Viper Venom Night Fix
This night moisturizer is a beauty. I have used many night creams claiming this, that or the next thing; this one does the this, that and the next things. I have noticed my face looking brighter and more refreshed when I wake up. I used to have serious dark circles under my eyes and the skin under my eyes isn't exactly the tightest, since I began using this my skin has become tighter and I am not as self conscious about my under eyes. Plus waking up more refreshed looking in the morning is something everyone wants. Using night moisturizers has always been hit or miss for me because of my oily skin, this product absorbs so quickly and does not leave a residue, therefore it does not affect the condition of my oily skin for better or worse and that I am ok with.
You can buy this product here

If there are any other Nip+Fab products you guys think I should try let me know, I am very impressed thus far and would love insight to other products to try out!

Mini Sephora Haul | Review

So this happened... Granted it has been a while since I've done much shopping damage so I think it was well deserved. And yes I added in a Maybelline product to my Sephora haul but I had it sitting there unopened so why not! I have been using these products for about a week now, so I am also going to give you guys a mini review, because I do have some thoughts on them thus far.

OleHenrikson Oil-free Pore Refining Cleansing Cloths - I was recommended these because I have crazy oily skin and I have to say I think they are helping... I usually wash my face at night and then just use a wipe in the morning to get any oil or dirt that my face produced over night dealt with, I have noticed a difference in my oil production over the past week, so they must be working. You can buy them here and they retail for 10-20 $ depending on the size you get.. You can either get 10 or 30 wipes.

OleHenriksen Makeup Removing Cleansing Cloths - Just to stay on the OleHenriksen train ( hey that rhymed) I got these makeup removing wipes, I always either use a cleansing oil like the one from MAC which you can see here or I use makeup wipes.. My reason for using the two different options really depends on how much makeup I am wearing, if I am wearing a full face of makeup, lashes and all I will use the oil because it gets everything off, if I have a more natural look going that day I will use wipes. I love the scent of these wipes, I can't even put my finger on what it is ( mostly because I am terrible at describing scents) but it is a great one. These basically take off all my makeup, i have noticed there is still a little bit left but thats what washing your face is for. These retail for 10- 19$ depending on the size of the package and you can buy them here

Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation - I have heard so many hit or miss reviews on this foundation (here and here) so I'm going to get straight to the point because this foundation seems to work great for some people and terrible for others. I am in love with this foundation, its the first one that has not melted off my face in months, I don't necessarily agree with Nars' claim for 16 hour wear but it does last through a full 8-9 hour work day for me so thats a plus! It retails for 59$ and you can buy it here

Sephora Retractable Lip Brush #60 - Lets just start off my saying I had never used or thought about using a brush to apply my lip products... This new found freedom I have with applying any lip stain or gloss has changed my life! If anyone is hesitant on trying out a brush for this reason, I would just bite the bullet and purchase one because it changes your lip colour game for the better. The one I purchased from Sephora retailed for 12.50$ and can be bought here

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser - I have seen many different reviews comparing Maybelline Baby Skin to Benefit Porefessional. I am a big fan of the Benefit product but not of the price tag, and hey if I can pay 8$ for something instead of 39$ I would be all over that. So far I do find them very similar, this one is a little more greasy than the Benefit product but aside form that I really don't see much of a difference. After I apply the Maybelline Baby Skin I just use a blotting paper to absorb the excess product and then I apply my foundation and it seems to work like charm. This product can be purchased from any Shoppers Drug Mart, or Ulta.

Alright beauties, thats all for now.

Hair Care Holy Grails

In the past year and a half my hair has been through hell and back, for lack of a better explanation... From red to platinum blonde, to violet, back to red and now fuschia. In order to keep up with these hair colour changes, I need a good hair routine. Oh did I mention on top being a handful of different hair colours in the last 18 months... I also have a weave. Yes, my hair is high maintainence, these are the products that work for my hair, they may not necessarily work the same for you as they do for me, but I hope if you decide to try out any of these products that you love them as much as I do!

Devacurl Deva Care No Poo - When I first started using this product, I didn't believe it would actually clean my hair, I mean how does a product that does not lather get the hair clean, I was pleasantly surprised. Since using this my hair has become much healthier, and shinier, my extensions have also become more manageable.. because this doesn't lather my colour lasts longer and the braids for my weave don't get loose from scrubbing my hair to create a shampoo lather. I will never go back to traditional shampoo at this point.
Moroccan Oil Moisture Repair Conditioner - Moroccan Oil products are a staple in my haircare. This conditioner helps to repair the damage I have caused my hair and the only conditioner I will use now. Its very moisturizing and my hair needs the extra moisture and repair in its life.

AG Keratin Repair Reconstructing Mask - This mask smells amazing, kind of like cream cheese icing. It works wonders on my hair making it feel fantastic. I use this every second time I wash my hair because I only wash my hair once a week, so I do this every two weeks. I would use it once a week if I washed my hair more often but it is not needed every time I wash my hair. Anyone with damaged hair should try this product out!

Moroccan Oil Treatment - I use this in my hair when it is wet and dry, this oil moisturizes my hair, helps with the frizz that my extensions can get and gives my hair some extra shine.
Joico Ironclad - I love this thermal protectant for my flat iron and curling iron, I like this because it is a aerosol and not a spritz pump. I find it drys super quick and you cannot feel it in the hair after it has been used. Thermal sprays are a must when heat styling.
Redken Pillow Proof Two Day Extender - This is my go to dry shampoo, it absorbs all the oil in my hair and makes it look freshly washed even when my hair hasn't been washed in a week, and that in my books makes this a holy grail product for me!

If there is any other products you guys think I should try let me know

Lush Cosmetics Favourites

Every product I try from Lush, I have fallen in love with... I thought I would share with you guys products that are a staple in my skincare and body care routine though, because honestly I cannot get enough of them.

Flying Fox Shower Gel- The smell of this product is to die for! It has scents of jasmine, ylang ylang and palmarosa oils to give it a nice clean, flowery scent. It also has honey in it to moisturize your skin. I can't go a day without using this and I am sure my skin has become more moisturized since I began to use it... I also use this in the bath as a bubble bath because the scents are very calming!

Imperialis Facial Moisturizer - this moisturizer is amazing, it's made for combination and picky skin and man does it work. It has lavender infusions to balance the skins oil production, basically this means that dry areas will start to produce more oil so they are not as dry, and oily areas of the face will begin to produce less oil (hello combination skin friends doesn't this sound amazing?) the orange blossom water in the lotion helps to brighten up dull or drab looking areas, and the tiger lily extract helps to tighten pores and reduce blemishes. This is the first moisturizer I have used that actually does what it claims to and anyone with crazy cranky skin like I have should try it!

Tea Tree Water Toner- this is amazing for oily skin, since I have started using this toner my skin has done a 100% turn around, it is still oily but much less than it was to begin with. Tea tree, juniper berry and grapefruit water are in this formula which helps to balance skin tone, and keep skin looking refreshed. The tea tree reduces redness and clears excess oil. There is no alcohol in this toner, which is great because alcohol is very drying and makes the skin produce more oil. Again my oily skin girls you should try this stuff out!

Mint Julips Lip Scrub - this is a mint chocolate scented and flavoured lip scrub, living in Canada my skin gets super dry, lips included, this has saved my life. The lip scrub gives a light exfoliation so you have a smooth lip canvas for lipstick or just in general. I love the mint one mostly because of the taste but I have also tried other scents and they are all amazing as well.

Bath Bombs - for bath bombs I cannot pick just one that I like, I love them all. Every time I go to Lush I'm pretty sure I get like 10 and have never been dissatisfied with one of them, everyone who loves baths and doesn't use these should jump on it right now!

If you guys have any other products I should try let me know :)

Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask

Photo from Google

After camping for a few days, I needed a good face mask to get all the dirt out of my pores... Hanging out in front of a campfire, going into the forest to get wood for a fire and all that jazz is the breeding ground for a breakout, so here we are with the Origins Clear Improvment Charcoal Mask.

Origins says that this mask uses 'active charcoal' and 'white China clay' to get toxins out of the skin. The Charcoal is said to draw out dirt that is deep in the pores and the white China clay is supposed to absorb environmental toxins.

This mask does everything it is supposed too. I use this every time my skin needs a deep cleaning and it has cleared up my breakouts and cystic acne. I have been home from camping for about 24 hours now and my skin is as perfect as when I left, so this face mask has a complete thumbs up in my books.  Anyone who has acne, cystic acne, oily skin, or skin that just needs a deep clean should try this mask out.  It retails at sephora for 17$ for 1.7oz and 25$ for 3.4oz. I used the trial/travel size to try out the product and then went back and bought the larger size because I fell in love with it.

Let me know if you ladies have any other masks I should try out.

Electric Haze Tanning Lotion

I have recently started tanning again... Mostly because it is now summer here in Calgary - or as close to summer as we get and I needed some colour. This meant I needed a new lotion, so here we are with the Electric Haze Lotion by Hippie.

I have to admit I was skeptical when trying this out because anytime I have used a tanning lotion with a bronzer in it, I have turned orange (no one likes a oompaloompa) the employee at my tanning salon assured me that this lotion would not do that and he was right! The lotion states on the bottle that it has anti aging and skin firming properties, I'm not sure if I have noticed my skin being firmer in the past few weeks, so I am not fully sure if it is firming or not.  What I find is really great about this product is the fact it keeps you tanning for 4 hours after you leave the bed, that's a real plus for me because my skin doesn't tan quickly, so the extra time that the lotion keeps working is a plus for me.  This doesn't have a strong tanning lotion smell which is nice, but it does still smell a little like you have just been in the tanning bed. Overall I do like this lotion even though it is a little pricey, but for people like me who want to get real dark real fast it works like a charm.

The lotion retails for about 100$ at Fabutan where I purchased it, so it is a little more pricey but I find it totally worth the price!

Stay beautiful girls, xo

L'Occitane Lavender Hand Creme | Product of the Week

Being a hairstylist, I need good quality hand cremes on deck at all times. I got this for Christmas one year in my stocking and have finally decided to break it open and use it, I must say L'Occitane has outdone themselves with this lotion. It's so moisturizing and absorbs very quickly without leaving your hands feeling greasy or anything like that. The lavender scent is also very soothing for my hands as they are dry and cracked from being in water all day. I would recommend this hand creme to anyone; especially people who do have dry skin, or work in professions which are hard on the hands like I do. This product retails for 12$ on the L'Occitane website for a 30ml tube.
Let me know if any of you ladies have any other hand lotions I should try!

20 Small Things to Appreciate In Life | Lifestyle

 Hello lovely ladies,

I have been experiencing  the worlds worst writers block these past few weeks.. I have been moving and more stressed out than ever. I hope that now being in my new house and somewhat settled my writers block will subside a little bit, I really hope so. It's hard running a blog which is based on creativity when you have none - but I have not forgotten about you guys.

Anyways the post I am going to do today is about a few little things I have learnt to appreciate more in life over these past few weeks, so here we go

1. The fact that spring is here in Canada and I can leave my house without freezing
2. My new roommate and the support I get from him.
3. The ladies I work with, I have one of the best groups of girls and they make everyday a little easier especially with the rut I have been in these past few weeks
4. Having food in our house
5. Going for a walk and for lack of a better sentence, smelling the flowers
6. My family, blood related and loyalty related
7. Being in a career I love and wanting to go to work everyday.
8. Music, we have artists all over the world who work their asses off to give us the music we listen to everyday
9. Having a roof over my head and a bed on my floor
10. My mom
11. Learning from my past mistakes
12. Books, reading is a way to escape and bring yourself to a different reality for a few hours
13.waking up every morning in good health
14. Nature
15. My bad days because they make my good days seem that much better
16. Smiles, smiling at someone you walk past can brighten their day, because you don't know what has happened to them before you met eyes and smiled at them. That one smile may change the outlook of their day.
17. Good memories because they outweigh the bad ones and give you a reason to smile.
18. A good nights sleep
19. My boyfriend, he keeps me on track and makes sure I've eaten and slept each day.
20. For being here today to write this post.

Let me know what you ladies are thankful for each day.

Product of the Week| Review

Hello lovely ladies,

A product I am just loving right now is the Revlon Nutri Colour Creme in the colour 500(purple red) ... Excuse the bottle, it likes to leak on itself :(

This product is basically a colour boosting conditioner that you use once a week. I use it every time I wash my hair, because I only wash it once a week and I really don't like when my red hair starts to fade. This conditioner keeps my colour so vibrant and I have yet to find another product that works this well.

To use this conditioner you shampoo and then apply the product, comb it through your hair and leave it on for 3 minutes when you want to refresh your colour quickly. If you find your colour needs a little added refreshment you can leave this on for longer but I find the 3 minutes works beautifully. Because the colour 500 is a purple red, it does stain skin (gotta love red right?) so try to keep it off your scalp if you can, but I am fully aware that's easier said than done.

The Revlon Nutri Colour Creme line comes in a variety of colours, most of the products the line carries cater to colours that are harder to keep vibrant in the hair, like fashion colours, reds, browns, and pastels.

This product retails for 33$ at Chatters in Canada but the price would vary dependant on where you purchase it.

I think that anyone who has a hard to maintain hair colour should try the Revlon Nutri Colour Creme. It completely changes your hair game!

I hope you ladies are having a good week,

20 Facts About Myself | Get To Know Me

Hey loves,

I know it's been a while since I posted, but regular blog posts will be back up this week! (Woo) Looking for houses and getting ready to move has been very busy for me, so I'm sorry if posts get put off schedule again in the next month but I'll do my best.

(Image taken from Google)

Anyways, I saw a fun tag I want to do and it's the 20 facts about yourself one, so here it goes:

1. I am a hairstylist, I love my job and I cannot imagine doing anything else. Boosting people's confidence by changing their looks, can be one of the most rewarding things in the world.

2. I love makeup, I want to go to makeup school in Vancouver at some point in my life. We aren't at that point now, but one day!

3. I love to read, I always have a book on the go. Currently I am reading The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks (yes cliche girl novel but I love it)

4. I naturally am very blonde but I have had almost every other hair colour. The most recent is a cherry violet red which I am in love with.

5. I love to dance. I do two step and country swing. Learning new lifts and tricks and pushing my body is so rewarding and I wouldn't have my evenings off spent doing anything else

6. I don't like people very much, yet I picked a job where I talk to people all day long. Funny how that works.

7. I love to cook.

8. I used to do competitive gymnastics but I quit about 7 years ago. I would love to get back into it one day though.

9. First impressions are everything to me. If I don't have a good first impression of a person, my opinion on them probably won't ever change.

10. I am almost always listening to much when I am at home, and it's usually country.

11. I still use a old school day planner to keep track of my life. I love using that so much more than my phone.

12. Burgundy, purple, and teal are my favourite colours.

13. I am 5 feet fall. No more, no less.

14. I am a very sarcastic person. It can be a downfall for me.

15. Starbucks is my one weakness

16. I'm addicted to YouTube. One of my favourite vloggers is Thataylaa.

17. I'm a Leo and every trait describes me to a tee.

18. I love to travel. Peru and Costa Rica are my favourites so far.

19. I talk in my sleep.

20. One day I want a Pomsky. Cutest little dog ever.

So I'm going to tag anyone who wants to do this to do it. It surprisingly a lot harder than you would think.

Have fun lovelies,

Xo

Morning Skin Care | Routine

Hello Loves,

So today I have my morning skincare routine for you guys. These are the products I use most frequently in the morning before I apply my makeup.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Foaming Cleanser - this cleanser is great for the morning, because it is made to combat oily skin; so I find when I use it in the morning I get less oily during the day - that's always a plus.

Lush Tea Tree Water Toner - again I use this tea tree product to combat my oily skin, as well as acne. I haven't been using this long, but it seems to work quite well!

Garnier Skin Renew Antipuff Eye Roller - i use this before I apply my eye cream, it helps to deal with how puffy my eyes are when I wake up (yay for being allergic to everything) I didn't see a difference when I first started using it, but over time it has helped. I quite like this product.

Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Eye - this eyecream is amazing! And going to become a staple in my skincare when the sample size I have now is done. It is very lightweight but moisturizing and helps with puffiness and fine lines around the eyes.

Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer - I love using this in the morning, it is lightweight but still moisturizing and I feel like because it is acne fighting it's working all day under my makeup with out me even knowing (yes I know that sounds crazy) this is a very great moisturizer!

Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub - I mentioned this in a few other blog posts as well (Lush Haul, Nighttime Skincare Routine, and February Favourites) this lip scrub is gold and everyone needs to own one. It gets all the dead skin off!

Carmex - this is my holy grail lip balm/treatment I use it all day but I especially like to put it on after I use my Lush lip scrub because it mousturizes my lips even better!

So anyways girls, that's what I use for skincare in the morning and little mini reviews/ explanations of why I use what products.

Let me know if there's any products I should add in or you recommend me to try out!

Product of the Week | Review

Hey ladies,

So this week my favourite product has to be the Makeup Forever Sens'Eyes makeup remover.

(Photo taken from Google)

I got this product for Christmas this year and never really started using it until now, because I was working through other makeup removers. But this is amazing stuff. It is a lotion as opposed to a gel or liquid which I really like, it's also made for sensitive skin but takes off even the most stubborn waterproof or smudge proof makeup. It also doesn't really have a scent. The fact that this product can remove all my makeup and not irritate my skin is beautiful!

To use this product I just put it on a cotton pad and the swipe it over my eyes as needed. I usually use one pump twice on each eye and that takes it all off, and then I wash my face as usual afterwards.

At Sephora in Canada this product retails for 10$ for the travel size (1.01oz) and 24$ for the full size (3.38oz) which is not bad considering it lasts forever!

I hope all you ladies have had a good week

February | Favourites

Hey ladies!

Here's my favourite products, music, YouTube channels and bloggers :) who's happy I am actually getting this post up the first week of March? Cause I know I am (yay for scheduled blogging) but anyways lets get to the point

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette - this has been one of my go to palettes this month, first of all it smells like chocolate (so what's not to love about that?) and the shadows are so buttery and blend out so easily, they are also super pigmented. This palette will always be a number one in my books!

Maybelline Dream Wonder Foundation - I use this in the lightest shade 10 Porecelian Ivory, and it is light enough to match my skin (yay) also this foundation is so lightweight it doesn't even feel like you are putting anything on your skin, but it does have decent coverage! I've been loving this because I haven't been wearing a lot of makeup on my face this month so it's nice, because it's a super quick application and looks good regardless of what products I use on top of it or, don't use on top. It looks good either way!

Hempz Green Tea and Asian Pear lotion- I got a sample size of this at a work conference and had to buy the regular size. The scent is so nice and light but the lotion is still super moisturizing, but I also have yet to find a Hempz lotion I do not enjoy. I almost own every scent they have... Whoops.

Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil - I am currently loving the shade milk, I use this in my water line to brighten up my eyes when I look or feel extra tied, and it works like a charm.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade - I use this eyebrow pomade in blonde and I find it's the perfect match for my eyebrows and skin tone. This eyebrow pomade is a holy grail product for me!

Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub - this is the third time I am mentioning this in a post so it must be good. I must say I love love love this lip scrub and I think everyone should own their own!

Song - this month I have been loving Shotgun Rider - Tim McGraw http://youtu.be/BkpuLMsDn48
Style - Taylor Swift
Country Side - Jason Blaine
YouTube -
Thataylaa
Kayln Nicholson
Meghan Rienks

Book-
The Longest Ride - Nicholas Sparks

I hope you lovely ladies enjoyed this post. Comment your favorites for the month down below :)

Nighttime Skin Care | Routine

Hey ladies!

Here is what I use at night for my skincare routine.

Mac Cleanse Off Oil Tranquil - I use this cleansing oil before I use my cleanser. I love this because it takes off every bit of my makeup before I even wash my face. I find my face feels a lot cleaner when I use this as my first step. I buy the tranquil one because I do have such sensitive skin and my skin may react to the regular version. This will always be a staple product for me!

St.ives Green Tea Cleanser - this is my step two after the cleansing oil. I use this at night as oppose to my tea tree cleanser because it's less drying and more targeted towards acne fighting. I do have cystic acne and I find things that are acne fighting don't always work for me, but this cleanser does seem to make a world of difference. Plus is smells really nice!

Clean and Clear Blackhead Clearing Astrigent - this is my night toner, I use it as my step 3, I find it takes off every last bit of makeup that my cleanser missed, it also does help clear up my blackheads which I have a lot of. I have been using this toner for years and it never disappoints.

Garnier Ultra Lift Eye Cream - this eye cream is amazing. I like this as a night formula because it is quite thick but I have noticed a difference in my under eyes. The skin under my eyes isn't the firmest and I do think that this has made a difference for me.

Lush Imperialis Facial Moisturizer - I just started using this and it's a light moisturizer that takes some time to absorb but then makes my skin feel lovely. It hasn't affected my cystic acne at all which is good but if I use it during the day it's just a little heavy so it is my new night cream!

Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub - I just got this but I have added it to my night and morning routine to take the dry skin off my lips and it works like a charm!

Carmex Lip Balm - I use this after my lip scrub to moisturizer my lips. Carmex is my HG lip moisturizer and I will always use it after my lip scrub as well as anytime my lips are dry !

I hope you girls like my skincare routine and mini reviews of what I use and why I use it. If you have any things I should add please comment them below :)

Lush Cosmetics Haul | Review

Hey ladies!

So I got some stuff from Lush the other day, so here's a mini review of my thoughts thus far!

Imperialis Facial Moisturizer - I got this because I do have quite oily skin and the lady at Lush told me it would be good for my sensitive/oily skin and it's quite light weight. I have decided to just use this at night because it does take my skin some time to absorb it and I find it doesn't help the longevity of my makeup when I put it on in the morning, but as a night cream it is superb and has not affected my cystic acne in a negative way. It is also very moisturizing.

Tea Tree Water Toner - I love tea tree oil to combat my oily skin, as well as my acne. I use a tea tree oil cleanser in the morning so I thought I would add this to my routine and I can say it has been working wonders! I think this is a new HG profduct.

Mint Julips Lip Scrub - this scrub is heavenly. I find when I wear matte lipsticks the lipstick always clings to dry spots so I got this to help deal with that. I use it at night and then follow with a lip balm to moisturizer. So far it has made a huge difference.

I have never used a lot of Lush products but I think I am beginning to see what all the hype is

Product of the Week | Review

Hello lovely ladies,

So for this weeks Product of the Week, I have decided the Wet Brush needs to be in the spotlight.
Since I got my weave back in (lol) I needed something to brush my hair that would work well with my extensions so that there is not a lot of tugging or anything like that.

This brush is a little piece of heaven. It is a brush that's designed for "wet" hair because they bristles are very moveable and not too firm so it detangles easier that way. I honestly use it for wet and dry hair because it glides over all my tracks so seamlessly and doesn't rip my extensions out like a lot of brushes can!

Anyone who has really thick hair, curly hair or basically any hair that is hard to handle needs one of these brushes in their lives!

Also they retail for about 16$ in Canada :)
