February Favourites | 2016

So February flew by and before I knew it, we are now in the middle of March and I have not put up my February Favourites for you guys... but now were here, better late than never right. February was a very busy month between my two jobs and home life, to heres to March slowing down a little bit and having a little bit more time to set aside for you lovely people, because I feel bad neglecting my blog and everything around it. Anyways without anymore of my rambling lets get into my February Favourites

Mac Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Sin
I absolutely love this lipstick colour, its a nice deep blue red. The fact it is cool toned works great with my skin tone, even though were coming into spring now I still really love dark bold lips, but I am sure once we actually get into spring I'll go back to liking nudes, and more mauvey types of colours. I think they only thing I dislike about this lipstick is the fact its very drying, most matte lipsticks are though so they kind of go hand in hand, but as long as you exfoliate your lips and use a lip balm before you apply it, you should be golden!

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray
For only being about $10 this setting spray is pretty good, it keeps my makeup matte and helps with its lasting power. Whenever I am on a budget I always get this from my local drugstore because its cheaper than my Loreal Infalliable Setting Spray, and they are very similar this one is just cheaper which is always a plus for me!

Moroccanoil Treatment Light
I cannot explain how much I love this product, I have been using it religiously for years, and then I took a break for a bit ( I'm still not sure why) and I recently started using it again and have fallen in love with it again. The smell is amazing. I use the light formula because my hair is so fine, but it absorbs instantly when my hair is wet and when I use this when my hair is dry it only takes a few minutes to absorb. I use this multiple times a day and it never ceases to work perfectly. A girl I work with always says, if I could bathe in Moroccanoil I probably would.

Redken Pillow Proof Blow-dry Express Primer
This is my favourite product to start my haircare routine with, its a primer so its the first product that is used, and then everything else follows. This primer is fantastic because it makes your hair dry up to 30% faster and it has a heat protectant in it. Some of the benefits of this spray is heat protection up to 450 degrees, anti breakage and it cuts blow-dry time. This is a great first step in my haircare routine.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Spearmint Lip Velour Lip Scrub
One my friends gave this too me one day a while back and I wanted to finish up my Lush lip scrub before breaking out this one, and I have to say I absolutely love it. Its a little bit rougher than the Lush one but that is perfectly ok with me considering I live in Canada and its very dry here, so therefore I need to exfoliate my lips and moisturize them very well all the time. This scrub keeps my lips in check at all times!

Empties | Review

Hey loves,

So this is my first empties post and I've got a pretty decent amount of trash to get through, so let's just get into it!

Like I said I've got a pretty decent amount of trash :)

First of all I have the Clean & Clear Night Relaxing All In One Cleansing Wipes. I used these the nights when I was just too tired to actually take off my makeup. They are fantastic though, they actually take off all my makeup even waterproof mascara and eyeliner. I think these are the first makeup wipes that have actually removed most of my makeup from the day. Wooo! So they get a solid 10/10 in my book, and a even better thing is that they didn't irritate my sensitive skin!

Next I have Benefit They're Real mascara, this is by far my holy grail mascara. I use this ontop of any other mascara I use and on days when I am doing a more natural look, I use it on its own. This mascara gives the best separation I have found and makes my lashes so long. This I will always repurchase.

Next up is the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. I did like this product but since my skin has been getting more oily, it wasn't working quite as well as it did when I originally bought it. I do love the Urban Decay setting sprays but because I need one for oil control I got the Urban Decay De-slick setting spray for oil control this time and I find it is working like a charm thus far. I think Urban Decay will always be a staple for setting sprays in my makeup bag.

The Mac Fix+ is always going to be a staple product for me, I use this to basically meld all my products together before using a setting spray. I find it helps me get just a few more hours of wear out of my makeup. I also keep one of these travel size ones in my purse incase my makeup gets cakey throughout the day, because spraying it on always gives a freshly applied look to my makeup. I will repurchase this again and again until the end of time!

To continue on the Mac train I have the Mac Studio Fix Powder Foundation in the shade NC 25, I love this to set my foundation and i find it gives me that little extra bit of coverage as well because I get a lot of cystic acne, and usually a full coverage foundation feels quite heavy and thick on my face. So I use this on top of a medium coverage foundation, and it gives me full coverage without feeling too thick! I always keep a second one of these on hand because I just can't go without it !

So this was a Mac blush. The colour on the back has worn off but I believe it was Peony Petal which is a brighter pink shade, but when it is applied it gives a very nice pink glow to the cheekbones, without looking to "clownesque" (is that even a word? Lol) I find some pinks have a little too much pigment for my skin tone but this one applied super nicely!

And now for some hair product, Chi Iron guard. I do like this thermal protectant, it also smells like man so that's a plus :) the only thing is I like aerosole thermal sprays better because you don't need to wait for them to dry if you don't want to hear the sound of your hair sizzling even though it's protected. I do like this spray but I probably won't buy it again because I would rather use a aerosole one.

Artego Miracle Lightweight Conditioner, this leave in is pure genius. It's more of a lotion consistency but it doesn't leave your hair heavy. I actually could spray half the bottle on my hair without it being weighed down. I also have super bleached white hair so combing through it when it is wet is a difficult task. The fact this leave in lets me comb my hair wet is beautiful and I will continue to use this until they don't make it anymore !

Redken Pillow Proof dry shampoo, this is a great dryshampoo without a super strong smell which I find most of them have. And it actually absorbs most of the oil in the hair without weighing it down. I find some dry shampoos are so heavy because of how much powder they put in to absorb the oil but this one is not like that at all! I sometines even use it before bed just so that when I wake up my hair looks fresh and it has had lots of time to work. I will always reccomend this to everyone!

Last but not least, Klorane dry shampoo. I got this in the travel size in my Ipsy bag and it is fantastic. I kept this little beauty in my purse just incase I ever needed a touchup throughout the day, it's not my favorite dry shampoo but for a little travel size, it did the job pretty well and I always kept it around incase I ran out of my Redken Pillow Proof. It's a good second option and I believe it is a little cheaper than the Redken one as well.

Anyways loves, sorry for the super long empties post. Hopefully next time I won't hoard my trash for as long!

Stay pretty girls!

November Spending Ban | Update

Hey loves,

So I have decided that the month of November, I am not going to buy anything that is not a necessity. As were all aware we are coming into Christmas season and I'm gonna be spending a lot of money then, so at this point why don't I just save some? The only money I have spent on products this month was at the Sephora VIB Rouge sale, which I could not say no too because when is anything at Sephora EVER on sale... There will also be a haul on what I bought in my next post :)

I think this spending ban is a good idea for a number of reasons.. It will give me a chance to begin to use up products that have just been sitting in my collection - because those are usually things that become lost soles haha, its also going to put me in a better place financially with bills, rent and the beginning of Christmas shopping. Who knows maybe this month will give me some self control when it comes to how I spend my money (haha we all know that won't happen, but I can hope)

I will still be putting posts up because I do have my haul from Sephora to post, as well as there should be a empties post coming soon too, and we all know everyone loves empties posts.. product reviews are the bomb.

Anyways stay pretty ladies,

xo

October | Favorites

I Hey loves,

So I decided to put my up October Favorites post today, because we all know tomorrow is Halloween and between work and all that jazz it's just not gonna happen :) so anyways here are all the products I have been loving for the month of October

My first favorite of the month is the Glamglow mask. I've heard so many bloggers rave about how good this is, so I thought I would get the sample size and try it out. Holy they were right, you can actually see this mask pulling gunk out of your pores, and it has actually managed to make my skin less oily, so that's a plus too. Even though the full size of this mask is about 70$ I think I am going to have to get it because it's already made such a difference in my skin.

So I just recently got the Nyx shine killer, since my skin has recently gotten brutal again I've been looking for any products which will keep my skin matte all day and this does w pretty good job. I wear this under foundation usually but if I'm not working I will just wear it on its own to keep my skin matte while I am running errands. I have yet to not like a Nyx product and with how well this primer works this line just keeps impressing me more and more.

The Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer is by far my favorite shadow primer ever!! It never creases which is awesome and as bad as this is I have woken up and still had my eyeshadow on, I cannot think of another eyeshadow primer that keeps your shadow on over night. It also has a very neutral colour to it so wearing it without shadow works as well because it covers any veins or redness on my eyelids. I would reccomend anyone to try this shadow primer out. It is just beautiful.

Because who doesn't like any of the naked pallets. I have just recently fallen in love with this pallete again, and the bronze/godly neutral colours are beautiful. I find urban decay does the most pigmented beautiful shadows ever and I have yet to find one that compares to the blend-ability of these shadows. I can not get over how much I have fallen in love with all the urban decay naked pallets

My last one is not makeup or skin related but this joico dry shampoo is quite nice, when you first spray it on its kind of wet but once it drys it works like a charm. And  guess what, it smells amazeballs

Alright ladies, I hope you liked the products I picked for October, and everyone have a fun and safe Halloween
