50 Things That Make Me Happy

I've noticed when I get stressed, something like I am currently.. I focus on everything negative that pops into my lovely brain. So that led me to doing this tag, thinking of 50 things that makes me happy is just about the hardest thing I have done all day. As much as this post will give you guys a little bit of an insight into who I am, this will also really help me get out of the negative and anxious rut that I am in. Focusing on the positive things in life rather than the negative is something that I have to do more of so why not start now.

1. My family, they are a group of people who will love my unconditionally regardless of what I do in life, and nothing can change the support that gives me.
2. My friends, they are the family that I chose, and I cannot imagine how my life would be, or where I would be without them and their support.
3. Being a hairstylist, making people happy in turn makes me happy.
4. Cooking
5. A good book, that I can't stop reading.
6. Essential oils, my mom works for Young Living Oils so she always sends some my way that she thinks will help me. I swear they have made a very big difference in my life for the better.
7. Scented candles.
8. Having a clean house.
9. New makeup.
10. Snowboarding

11. My little Yorkie Dakota, he lives at my moms because I can't have pets in my house but he's my little fur baby and I have had him for almost twelve years.
12. Road trips.
13. Coffee
14. Having my days organized, thank goodness for my planner.
15. Fall, its my favourite season.
16. My grandparents.
17. Nail polish.
18. Relaxing days off.
19. Music.
20. Taking long baths.

21. Christmas.
22. Sleep.
23. Going for evening walks.
24. Good hair days, they can be few and far between but I cherish them.
25. Going shopping when I have the extra money to spend on myself.
26. Making people feel better when they are going through a hard time.
27. My blog.
28. Falling asleep to the sound of rain.
29. The smell of fresh laundry.
30. Clean bed sheets.

31. Breakfast and bowling Sundays.
32. Pamper days.
33. Reorganizing and redecorating my room.
34. Hugs
35. Overcast days.
36. Memories.
37. The smell of freshly cut grass.
38. Girls nights.
39. Sleeping in.
40. Inspirtational quotes.

41. Living so close to the mountains.
42. Camping.
43. Nature.
44. Popcorn.
45. Breakfast for dinner.
46. HGTV
47. The sound of the ocean.
48. Pajama days.
49. Laughing until I cry.
50. Penguins.

So now that I've made it through all 50 of those facts, I hope you guys have learned a little bit about me, and I now tag all of you guys who read this to do this tag as well, its a hard one but totally worth it in the end!

xo Christina.

February Favourites | 2016

So February flew by and before I knew it, we are now in the middle of March and I have not put up my February Favourites for you guys... but now were here, better late than never right. February was a very busy month between my two jobs and home life, to heres to March slowing down a little bit and having a little bit more time to set aside for you lovely people, because I feel bad neglecting my blog and everything around it. Anyways without anymore of my rambling lets get into my February Favourites

Mac Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Sin
I absolutely love this lipstick colour, its a nice deep blue red. The fact it is cool toned works great with my skin tone, even though were coming into spring now I still really love dark bold lips, but I am sure once we actually get into spring I'll go back to liking nudes, and more mauvey types of colours. I think they only thing I dislike about this lipstick is the fact its very drying, most matte lipsticks are though so they kind of go hand in hand, but as long as you exfoliate your lips and use a lip balm before you apply it, you should be golden!

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray
For only being about $10 this setting spray is pretty good, it keeps my makeup matte and helps with its lasting power. Whenever I am on a budget I always get this from my local drugstore because its cheaper than my Loreal Infalliable Setting Spray, and they are very similar this one is just cheaper which is always a plus for me!

Moroccanoil Treatment Light
I cannot explain how much I love this product, I have been using it religiously for years, and then I took a break for a bit ( I'm still not sure why) and I recently started using it again and have fallen in love with it again. The smell is amazing. I use the light formula because my hair is so fine, but it absorbs instantly when my hair is wet and when I use this when my hair is dry it only takes a few minutes to absorb. I use this multiple times a day and it never ceases to work perfectly. A girl I work with always says, if I could bathe in Moroccanoil I probably would.

Redken Pillow Proof Blow-dry Express Primer
This is my favourite product to start my haircare routine with, its a primer so its the first product that is used, and then everything else follows. This primer is fantastic because it makes your hair dry up to 30% faster and it has a heat protectant in it. Some of the benefits of this spray is heat protection up to 450 degrees, anti breakage and it cuts blow-dry time. This is a great first step in my haircare routine.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Spearmint Lip Velour Lip Scrub
One my friends gave this too me one day a while back and I wanted to finish up my Lush lip scrub before breaking out this one, and I have to say I absolutely love it. Its a little bit rougher than the Lush one but that is perfectly ok with me considering I live in Canada and its very dry here, so therefore I need to exfoliate my lips and moisturize them very well all the time. This scrub keeps my lips in check at all times!

Morning Skincare Routine

Happy Thursday loves,

I thought for today I would give you guys a updated skin care routine for mornings because its been a while since I have done one of these and my routine has changed quite a bit in my opinion so here it is!

Neutrogena Rapid Clear All in 1 Daily Scrub
I have been using this scrub every morning for the past few months, and I have to say it has helped my acne quite a bit. I still do have quite a bit of acne on my forehead, and chin area but this has helped quite a bit. I love how it is a exfoliating face wash but it is gentle enough to use every day!

Clean and Clear Blackhead Cleaning Astringent
This toner has been my holy grail toner for years now, I have tried other ones and they just don't seem to have the same affect on my skin as this one does. I think I will keep using this for years to come. I find it to be quite gentle on my skin and that is definitely a plus for me.

Garnier Ulta Lift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Eye Cream
I got this in a product box I used to order and decided to start using it because I'm trying to start using up all the products I've been holding on to. I quite like this eye cream, I don't know if its going to be a holy grail product for me but it does a really good job on moisturizing my under eyes and that is all good with me, especially because having moisturized under eyes makes my concealer crease less!

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery
This is a fantastic facial moisturizer, I have been using it for the past month and its been amazing. It has a spf of 50 which is fantastic because UV rays can be very hard on your face. This is a anti-aging facial moisturizer with polypeptides that encourage collagen producing activities. I think this is going to become a holy grail product for me even though I have not been using it for very long I love it.

Blistex Lip Medex
Every skincare routine also needs to have a fantastic lip balm and this Blistex lip balm is my favourite. I have them stashed all over my house and I am always using this during the day. Living in Canada we have a very dry climate so a standup lip balm is necessary and this one is fantastic for being just that!

If you guys can think of any other products I should try and add into my routine please let me know!

Until next time xo

Empties of 2016... So far

Happy Thursday lovelies,

So I decided I finally have enough trash to create a empties post for you guys, even though most of it not gonna lie is hair care, theres a few makeup products hidden in the bottom. So if you want to know what I think of these products just keep reading!

Redken Hair Cleansing Cream
This is my go to clarifying shampoo because it doesn't make my hair feel like straw after I use it. I can also use it with my extensions and it doesn't leave them super dry and matted like most clarifying shampoos do. This product is great to use once a week or every two weeks depending on how often you wash your hair! I will forever repurchase this shampoo.

Moroccan Oil Moisture Repair Conditioner
This is my go to conditioner and I love it. It can be quite heavy if you have fine hair but its so moisturizing I look past that and continue to love it. The smell of Moroccan Oil is the best as well! This conditioner is sulphate and paraben free as well so it is also ok to use on my extensions and makes them feel as soft as they were when I first got them six months ago!

Moroccan Oil Smoothing Conditioner
I've got to be honest, this conditioner was WAY too heavy for my hair, and it felt like it left a coating on my extensions, so I probably won't repurchase this. I think that if you have super coarse and unruly hair this would be a perfect conditioner for you, but for me it was just too heavy, on the bright side it does still have the amazing Moroccan Oil smell!

Redken Pillow Proof Dry Shampoo
This is hands down my favourite dry shampoo, it doesn't leave a white cast on my hair and lasts for a few days. Having a good dry shampoo is key when you only wash your hair every week or week and a half and this stuff gets me through! If you don't have a holy grail dry shampoo, I really suggest you try this out!

Moroccan Oil Moisture Repair Shampoo
Just like the Moroccan Oil Moisture Repair Conditioner, this is my go to shampoo that goes with it. This shampoo doesn't have sulphates or parabens in it, so it doesn't lather like a shampoo that does have them would, I find shampooing twice creates the same lather and it feels like a normal shampoo. I will always continue to repurchase this because of the amazing scent and the fact it cleans my hair like no bodies business.

Loreal Infallible Makeup Setting Spray
This is a fantastic setting spray, it is very comparable to the Urban Decay setting sprays but $18 instead of $38, so the difference in price is a great selling point for me! I don't have any complaints about it and honestly I like it more than they Urban Decay setting sprays, if you are looking for a dupe, I urge you to check this guy out!

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer 10 Light
I am in love with this concealer, I have already repurchased it and I got as much out of this package as humanly possible which is a lot harder than expected. It is light enough for my pale self, and blends out like a dream! I use this on my under eyes and in any blemished areas on my face, before and after my foundation.

Alcon Opti-free Pure Moist
Honestly, I bought this in a pinch because I slept with my contacts in after a night out and my eyes were just killing me, it works pretty well, just like any other contact solution. I don't know if I would repurchase this exact solution again, I usually just go for whichever one is on sale.

Hard Candy Light Bright Concealer Fair
I honestly hated this concealer, I don't know if it was the product itself or I was applying it wrong but I could not blend this out for the life of me, compared to Glamoflauge (which I love) this was a large disappointment for me and I will not be buying this again.

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb
I really liked this perfume sample, it had a very nice floral scent but almost a little earthy as well. I will for sure be adding this to my perfume collection once I get a few more of my samples used up!

Bath and Body Works Wallflower, Leaves
Leaves is my favourite scent, even though it only comes out in the fall, I use it all year around in candles and wall flowers. I love any kind of wallflowers to be honest, they make my house smell so pretty and fresh!

Well if you made it through this whole post, congrats because that was a long one.

Until next time, stay beautiful

Healthy Nails? Health Hoof!

So after the weirdest post title, lets talk about the best nail treatment I have found...
Healthy Hoof, this is an intensive protein treatment for your nails, that was originally used in the horse world and has now been brought into the world of aesthetics

So long story short, I have stopped getting gel nails, so my nails are absolute garbage right now.. I came across Healthy Hoof a few years ago, actually the last time I decided to stop getting my nails done and forgot about it until now, but let me tell you for anyone who has super weak nails this stuff is amazing. Its a cream that you apply to your nail and cuticle area and because it is a protein treatment it strengthens your nails and moisturizes your cuticles as well - its basically like a hair mask for your nails. This product has a very light lavender scent and absorbs almost instantly, the only thing I would warn you about is not to use it before you paint your nails because the nail polish will not adhere properly, because of the lotion consistency of this nail treatment.
All in all Healthy Hoof gets a good 10/10 in my books for being a standup nail treatment and my new/old holy grail product.

If you have tried this product please comment down below and let me know what you think of it as well!

MAC Soft and Gentle | Product of the Week

I am finally back to doing product of the week posts! Every Wednesday I am going to have a feature product, it could be makeup, skincare, or haircare. So to kickoff the first Product of the Week post for the year, we have a oldie but a goodie... MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle.

I recently started reaching for this highlighter again this past week, and I have fallen in love all over again.. Seriously I put it on and all that I can think is YAAAAASSSS. It is the perfect cheek bone highlight, and a lot of days I will also use it as a brow bone, and inner corner highlight. It is more of a bronzey peach tone and quite shimmery, but I find you really cannot use too much of it.

If you haven't tried this before I strongly urge you to go to MAC and pick it up... And if its sitting collecting dust, think about picking it up again like I did

home is where the heart is

I have always loved going to British Columbia to see my dads side of the family, I never realized how much I wanted to be out there with them until I left this morning. As I am sitting on my flight back to Alberta, I am overcome with feelings of the fact, Im not going home, I am going to where I live but thats far from home. Everyone says ‘home is where the heart is’ and my heart is not in Alberta… but these in flight pretzels almost make the trip back bearable. I don’t think at this point in my life, i have wanted to be anywhere more, and I don’t know what to do. How do you get up and move provinces? How do you leave your friends and family in one, to move to another?
There is so many things I need to think about. I’m 21, am I ready to leave my home, and create a new one? Who knows. Is this something I need to do for myself.. Probably.
The only thing I have that is really keeping me in Alberta, would be my moms side of the family, and my dad (also the girl sitting next to me, really likes to creep on everything I write) Maybe I have grown enough at home and I am ready to move on, but well really never know until I try.
